His story

From the NFL to the men's table.

Chris Scott knows what it costs when a man's walls come down.

The Indianapolis Colts drafted him in the third round in 1984. He played three seasons. In 1988, at a tryout with Miami and in the best shape of his life, his knee collapsed in training camp, and football was over.

What came next was harder: a failed marriage, bankruptcy and foreclosure. Chris kept showing up. He has spent thirty years in a men's Bible study and more than eighteen years mentoring boys, and in 2013 he founded Boys2Men in Berea, Ohio.

Today he is the Executive Director of Boys2Men, leads Men Mentoring Men, and wrote Rebuilding the Wall for the man who feels he has failed. He is a husband, a father, and a builder of men.

No matter how broken things may seem, God can rebuild any man who is willing to surrender and do the work.
Chris Scott, Rebuilding the Wall
The four walls

Four walls every man carries.

The areas of a man's life that should be strong but are often neglected, damaged, or never built. When one is weak, everything connected to it starts to fall apart.

Spiritual leadership

God calls men to lead, starting at home.

Protection

Provision without protection leaves a home exposed.

Discipline

What keeps a man steady when life gets hard.

Emotional strength

Very few men are ever taught how to handle what they feel.

His focus now · Men Mentoring Men

Men helping men become who their families need.

Chris spent thirteen years making sure boys had strong men in their lives. Along the way he saw the other half of the problem: the men need mentoring too. Men Mentoring Men is his answer, built on his book and his own story.

Small groups

A handful of men who meet, talk straight, and hold each other to what they said they'd do. Faith, family, work and the hard parts in between.

One-on-one

An older man walking with a younger one. The same thing Boys2Men did for boys, for the season when a man is building a home of his own.

Teaching

Chris Scott's teaching from his book, Rebuilding the Wall: the four walls every man has to keep standing, and how to rebuild one that fell.

How it works

Raise your hand. We'll build the group with you.

We're forming the first groups now. The where and when will be set with the men and churches who sign up, so the first step is simply telling us you're in.

  1. STEP 01

    Tell us you're interested

Send a short note through our form. Say whether you want a group, a mentor, or to host.

  2. STEP 02

    We reach out

Someone from Boys2Men gets back to you to hear where you are and what you're looking for.

  3. STEP 03

    A group comes together

We match men by place and season of life, often around a church that opens its doors.

  4. STEP 04

    Start rebuilding

Meet, read, talk honestly and keep showing up. That is most of the work.

We're forming the first groups now. Be one of the first men in.

When and where do groups meet?

We're forming the first groups now, so there is no set schedule yet. Times and places will be worked out with the men and churches who sign up. Tell us you're interested and we'll keep you in the loop.

Do I have to be a Christian?

The teaching comes from a Christian book and a faith-based ministry, and it says so plainly. Any man who wants to grow is welcome at the table.

Do I need to read the book first?

No. It helps, and it's short, but you can start without it. You can find it at chrisscott.me.

Is this connected to Boys2Men?

Yes. Men Mentoring Men is part of Boys2Men Inc, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Chris Scott in Berea, Ohio. Boys2Men works with boys through FORGED and with men through Men Mentoring Men.

How can our church get involved?

Use the host a group form and tell us a little about your church and your men. You can also ask about having Chris speak.

Who do I call?

Call Boys2Men at 440-532-1837, or send a note through the contact form.

Every boy needs a good man in his corner.

FORGED puts thirteen years of what works in the hands of every parent and mentor. Help us launch it.
